Who are the owner and operator?

Ecumen is a Shoreview-based company that operates a broad spectrum of senior housing communities across Minnesota, with a spirit of all-encompassing care, empowering individuals to live richer, fuller lives. Ecumen Pathstone has been serving the Mankato region since 1937.

What is included in the monthly rent?

All utilities, expanded basic cable, electric, gas, water, trash and wireless internet.

Is there a second occupant fee?

No, there is no second occupant fee.

What is NOT included in my monthly service fee?

Telephone service, covered parking and storage lockers are not included in the monthly service fee

Where do I park my vehicle?

We offer underground parking for an additional fee. You may also park outside at the Pathstone campus.

Is there additional storage in the community?

Yes. Each floor has a limited number of storage lockers available for a fee.

What amenities are accessible for the tenants?

The community will have a warm Scandinavian look and feel. Residents will have access to a Club Room, Rooftop Terrace with view of Minnesota River bluffs, Fitness Room, Lifelong Learning Center and beautiful patio with a fire feature.

What if I decide to move out after living at Pathstone?

You simply provide us with a 30-day written notice.

Can I get meals?

Meals are not included in the monthly rent. However, they are available for purchase for special events through our on-site cafe and catering department.

Is there a washer and dryer available in each apartment?

Yes, there are washers and dryers in each apartment.

Could you explain the personalized homemaker and home care services that are available in the independent living apartments?

Tenants may contract directly with Pathstone Home Care located on the campus for services, such as housekeeping, plus assistance with personal care, therapy, and skilled nursing as needed. Tenants may also contract with outside agencies if desired.

If I needed more care someday, would I have access and be on a higher waitlist for the Pathstone campus than others from the outside?

Yes, if you reside in the Independent Living apartments, you would have a preferred access to availability if the time comes you would need care.

Are pets allowed?

We know that some pets are part of the family, and we want to ensure that your pet can make the move with you. Therefore, pets that meet criteria are allowed at Pathstone for a one-time, non-refundable fee. For additional information, please see your Ecumen representative

What is the policy on smoking?

Ecumen Pathstone is a smoke-free community.

Do you have a guest suite?

For a fee, we do offer a guest suite for friends and family who decide to spend the night. Simply make your reservation with the receptionist.

How do I know Ecumen Pathstone Living is right for me or a loved-one?

Ecumen Pathstone Living is a nonprofit, spiritual-based senior living community offering Short-term Rehabilitation, Residential Care Center, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Adult Day and Home Care. An informative Admissions Team will work closely with you and your family to determine care needs and assist with making that important decision.

If I am interested in living in your community, where should I begin?

Give us a call at 507-345-4576 to talk with someone about the community and to see how we could best fit your needs. You can also go to our website to schedule a tour or request information.

Who can help me through this process?

The Director of Housing is best suited to answer your questions about a possible move, availability of apartments, and how the entire moving process works. There are, however, many other staff that will be happy to answer your questions and provide a tour if needed. Feel free to call our main number at 507-345-4576 and they will direct your call.

What are the guidelines for Assisted Living?

Ecumen Pathstone Crossing – Assisted Living is a perfect solution for you to continue living with independence, choice and convenience, even if you need extra assistance. Pathstone Crossing provides maintenance-free living which includes three delicious meals daily, weekly housekeeping and laundry, and ala carte health services as needed. Social, spiritual and leisure activities are offered in addition to beautiful community spaces, courtyards, and chapel.

How is Memory Care different than Assisted Living?

Ecumen Pathstone Living provides Memory Care services for people experiencing different stages of dementia, Alzheimer’s or other memory loss and/or complex medical needs. Our community provides a safe environment for those with memory loss because of our secured entrances. We also have on-site licensed nursing staff and/or resident assistants available 24/7 which allows us to meet the needs to those looking for access and the security of round the clock nursing care.

How to determine whether Assisted Living or Memory Care would be the best fit?

Because of our unique community which embraces the components of the award winning Ecumen Awakenings program, we are able to provide specialized care and services to those with memory loss in our Assisted Living as well as our Memory Care neighborhood. Our goal is to bring the needed services directly to their apartment no matter where in the community they live. If the event that a transition to our Memory Care neighborhood is needed, our nursing team and Leadership staff will work directly with families to assist in the transition.

Once I select an apartment at Ecumen Pathstone Living, what is the next step?

Once an apartment is selected, the Director of Housing will walk you through the necessary paperwork and set up the time for a nursing assessment to determine care needs. Once all that is completed, the move can take place.

If I decide to move to Ecumen Pathstone Living, how do I decide what health care services are needed?

Once a decision is made to move to Ecumen Pathstone Living, our nurse will meet with all new prospects and their family members to decide together what health care services are needed. When receiving health services at Ecumen Pathstone Living, we work closely with families, physicians, therapies, and other care professionals to provide the best continuity of care. Our team approach to care relies on open communication to bring all disciplines together to develop the best possible outcomes for the health and well-being of our residents.

What is there to do once I make the move to Ecumen Pathstone Living?

Pathstone Living has an extensive program of activities to meet the social, spiritual, physical, educational, and creative needs of residents. A copy of our Activity Calendar is available on our website for you to review. See all that we have to offer!

How do residents at Ecumen Pathstone Living find out information on activities, programming, and upcoming events?

At the first of every month, residents receive a copy of the Activity Calendar and scheduled outing/trips for the month. Also, at breakfast residents receive daily announcements by Activity Staff highlighting daily events. Lastly, our Activity Staff and Resident Assistant staff will encourage, direct and guide residents to programs that may fit their interests.

Does Ecumen Pathstone Living offer any type of exercise or wellness classes?

Ecumen Pathstone Living partners with a nationally known fitness program called Live 2B Healthy. A trained fitness instruction leads classes 3 times per week that are geared to improve balance, strength, and flexibility of older adults. Our Activity Staff also provide a variety of physical fitness options, please see Activity Calendar for more details.

Are there religious activities I can choose to participate in?

Ecumen Pathstone Living offers a devotion/service located on campus in the Pathstone Chapel 6 days per week. Ecumen Pathstone Living also has a PT Chaplain on staff to lead and coordinate our spiritual care program. Our Chaplain also facilitates a variety of spiritual programs including memorial services, hymn sings, discussion groups, and other church services.
